Amazing Amber’s mathematical first for Pymble
The European Girls Mathematical Olympiad first started in 2012 and is considered the most prestigious mathematics competition for girls, in the world. Amber is the first Pymble student to be selected and attend.
Amber and her fellow Australian team members ranked second out of 54 participating countries, which is the highest result the Australian team has ever achieved since first entering the competition in 2018.
Additionally, each member of the Australian team achieved individual gold medals during the competition, with Amber tying for 6th place overall individually!
Well done to Amber and her Australian team mates who have made us so proud, not only of their wonderful result but also for their hard work and courage.
